Whitstable Farm merges with Barron Creek Farm!

The story of Whitstable Farm continues…

In 2017, we grew our first trial crops on a small acre of land in the hills of Silicon Valley, and we had a vision to feed people. It was pretty simple in the beginning, grow organic food and give it to people who need it. Over the years, Whitstable Farm has experimented with the best ways to grow vegetables for the community, always focusing on organic and regenerative agricultural practices, and always keeping it local and fresh.

For many years, the farm managed a CSA veggie box program, and then later a Flower CSA program. This enabled us, the farmers, to grow a variety of crops, and see what worked best for our context; we were able to build infrastructure and systems, and improve the soil. The support and encouragement from our CSA members was truly amazing! But we kept coming back to our goal: becoming a non profit farm, purely focused on feeding the food insecure in our community.

And now, in the Spring of 2024, we are proud to announce we have merged with our sister farm, Barron Creek Farm and made our dreams come true! We are now operating as Barron Creek Farm, a nonprofit small scale farm that partners directly with community groups, food banks and local churches to provide fresh, organic and local produce for our community.
